Instagram Connection Setup with BOKBOK
This is a simple setup guide for connecting Instagram to BOKBOK. You need an Instagram Professional Account (Business or Creator) and a Facebook Page — link Instagram from that Page's linked settings first, then click Connect Instagram in BOKBOK.

Instagram uses the same Meta / Facebook login window as Facebook. If the wrong account is selected, or the connection breaks after a password or Page change, an old Facebook session in the browser is often the cause. Disconnect, then reconnect from a private / incognito window.

BOKBOK cannot connect a regular personal Instagram account. You must use an Instagram Professional Account. That means either a Business Account or a Creator Account — both work with BOKBOK.
Instagram must be linked to a Facebook Page. You do this from the Facebook Page's linked settings — add Instagram there. BOKBOK connects through that Page, not through a personal Facebook profile.

How to Link Instagram from Your Facebook Page
Do this before you click Connect Instagram in BOKBOK. The link is made from your Facebook Page, not from the Instagram app.
- Create a Facebook Page if you do not have one yet, or open the Page you already use for your business.
- If that Page already has a different Instagram linked, or BOKBOK already has the Page connected with the wrong setup: Disconnect in BOKBOK first, then remove the old Instagram link from the Page's linked settings if needed.
- Open your Facebook Page (not your personal Facebook profile).
- Go to Page settings → Linked accounts (wording may vary — look for Instagram under linked accounts).
- Click Connect account or Connect Instagram, log in to your Instagram Professional Account, and confirm the link.
- Confirm the Page name matches the business you want customers to see, then go to BOKBOK and click Connect Instagram.

What You Need Before You Connect
Instagram does not connect as a personal profile. Prepare these items, then connect from your BOKBOK dashboard. After that, Instagram DMs can come into BOKBOK and your chatbot can reply.
1. A BOKBOK account
Sign in to BOKBOK and open the chatbot you want to use. Connection happens from that chatbot's Integrations page.
2. An Instagram Professional Account (Business or Creator)
Professional Account is the required type. Inside that, choose Business (shop, brand, company) or Creator (influencer, public figure) — both work. A regular personal Instagram account cannot connect.
3. Instagram linked from your Facebook Page
Open your Facebook Page → Page settings → Linked accounts → connect your Professional Instagram there. Instagram connects to BOKBOK through that Page — not through a personal Facebook profile.
4. A Facebook login that can manage the Page
When BOKBOK opens the Meta window, log in with the Facebook account that is an admin of the linked Page.

How to Connect Instagram in BOKBOK
Clicking Connect Instagram opens Meta's official window. You log in, choose the Page that is linked to Instagram, allow access, and BOKBOK links Instagram messages to that chatbot.
- In BOKBOK, open your chatbot → Integrations → Instagram → Connect Instagram.
- A Facebook / Meta window opens. Log in with the Facebook account that manages the Page linked to Instagram.
- Choose the Facebook Page that is connected to your Instagram Professional Account.
- Allow BOKBOK to manage Instagram messaging, then finish.
- Back in BOKBOK, check that Instagram shows as Connected on the Instagram card.
What happens after you finish
When a customer messages you on Instagram, BOKBOK can receive it and reply. You manage those chats in BOKBOK. Keep using Instagram for posts as usual — this connection is for messages.
If Connection Fails: Common Problems and Fixes
Most Instagram connection issues come from the account type, a missing Page link, or an old Facebook login in the browser. Try these fixes in order.
1. Instagram is still a personal account
Switch to a Professional Account (Business or Creator) in Instagram Settings, then try Connect Instagram again.
2. Instagram is not linked from the Facebook Page
Open your Facebook Page → Page settings → Linked accounts, and connect your Instagram Professional Account there. If BOKBOK was connected before, disconnect first, fix the Page link, then reconnect in BOKBOK.
3. The wrong Facebook account is logged in
Facebook often keeps an old session. Disconnect in BOKBOK, open a Private / Incognito window, log in to BOKBOK, and click Connect Instagram again so you can pick the correct Facebook account and Page.
4. You changed password, Page, or Instagram details
Always Disconnect Instagram (and the related Facebook Page if needed) in BOKBOK first. Make the change, then connect again. Changing first can break permissions so DMs stop arriving.
5. Incognito still does not fix it
Try another browser or device. Confirm Instagram is Professional, linked to the same Page you select in the Meta window, then connect again.
